Three weeks after graduating college, I moved to Wyoming to become a photojournalist

at a newspaper called the Laramie Boomerang, named after the founder's mule (yes, really!) 

During my two and a half years on staff, I cut my teeth photographing anything and everything you can think of, from wildfires to youth talent shows. I learned to look carefully + arrange compositions on the fly — and while my time at the paper is over, I like to think that I still bring a documentary-style approach to anything I do.
